After the timber museum, the Styrian Timber Road and the provincial exhibition "Holzzeit", the golf course added another annual ring to the Murau timber region. Its unmistakable timber architecture has made the facility a hallmark of the area. Between St. Lorenzen ob Murau and the district town of Murau, framed by the wooded slopes of the Nockberge and the green river Mur, lies this 18-hole course designed by Diethard Fahrenleitner and Barbara Eisserer. Generously routed across ample terrain, it uses woodland, tree belts and ponds as natural backdrops. Striking features define the layout: undulating greens, lateral and frontal water, and spectacular half-island and island greens. Two 9-hole loops can each be played out from the clubhouse and back. The practice facilities include a driving and short-game range, covered teeing bays and a putting green.
